Retro shooter Zombies Ate My Neighbors is acquiring a Personal computer release

LucasArts' 16-bit classical Zombies Ate My Neighbors and its sequel Ghoul Patrol are in the end getting their moment happening PC, near 20 years aft their first releases.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors was originally released along both the SNES and Sega Genesis back in 1993. The bats top-down shoot-'em-ahead follows the adventures of Julia and Zeke every bit they trot around and deliverance their neighbours from a salmagundi of grisly budget horror film baddies. Graverobber Police released a year later and largely followed the one format of its predecessor, with Zeke and Julia regressive.

The games—which leave be the SNES version specifically—persist largely unchanged bar a couple of recent tweaks. There's a quick-save system being added, along with achievements. There's also some museum good with behind-the-scenes looks at unseeable concept art and an question with one of the originative Zombies Ate my Neighbors developers.

It's always great to see beloved home console classics making their way to PC. We got sort of nearby with the fanmade roguelike continuation Demons Ate My Neighbors and a strange DOOM-esque version, but it's nice to have the real stuff.

Lucasfilm Games, Dotemu, and Limited Run are delivery the games as a bundle to Steam clean and GOG.com on June 29 for $14.99/£11.39.

Mollie Taylor

A fresh writer in the industry, Mollie has been expropriated under PC Gamer's RGB-laden wing, making sure she doesn't dress to too much roguishness along the site. She's non quite sure what a Command & Conquer is, but she commode rattle on for hours about wholly the inglorious rhythm games and strange MMOs from the 2000s. She's been cooking up all manner of news, previews and features while she's been present, but especially enjoys when she gets to write about Final Fantasy, Persona, The Sims, and whatever other secret plan she's presently hopelessly fixated happening. At that place's a good chance she's boring some other PC Gamer writer about her latest compulsion A we speak.
